What are the Catholic Burial Options?
We understand a respectful burial that adheres to the Catholic faith and tradition is important to you. When you are ready to make burial arrangements, one of our Family Service Counselors will meet with you to walk you through each of the options, so you may decide what is best for you and your family. The following Catholic burial options are those that you may choose from when making arrangements.
Depending on space and availability, you may choose a specific place on the grounds of your selected cemetery for a traditional ground burial. Families will have several burial options that are distinguished by the type of memorial that is placed on the grave. When it comes time to make arrangements, our team will help you understand the traditional ground burial options so that you may select what is best for you.
For cremated remains, the Church strongly recommends a burial at a Catholic cemetery on consecrated grounds. Whether the cremated remains are inurned in a mausoleum or placed a columbarium niche, cremation burial on blessed grounds ensures a final resting place that is both respectful and reverent. Your Family Service Counselor will guide you through the process to help you decide upon cremation burial arrangements.
Several of our locations have beautiful, well-maintained Mausoleums. Mausoleums offer aboveground entombment on consecrated grounds, with both interior and exterior crypts available. Often times, mausoleum entombment can be a cost-effective option to ground burial. Our mausoleums give family members a soothing area to gather and reflect on the legacy of someone who has passed. Climate controlled chapels found inside the mausoleums offer a comfortable space for both visitation and special services as planned by the diocese.
